For those with negatory feedback on the bushing wear, where do you live and how are you using your 4Runner? Just curious.
I wouldn't call my feedback negative - more just a high maintenance interval FYI

I'm on my 3rd or 4th set at 80k miles. Stock shocks have a fixed upper mount and a bushing at the lower mount.

Hey on this topic particularly....
Quick question regarding 5160's/6112's and looking to go 2" lift....
I'm in a 5th gen 2011 and if I pull the trigger on a lift using the above mentioned gear and probably no more then 2" of lift.... Does that sound like something that will be require me to jump on this UCA bandwagon? Cuz I'm not particularly sure I feel good about it after all the reading I've been doing about these UCA and some of the drama people experience.
.
I would buy that if they only made cheap low end shocks. While they do make lower quality shocks for the masses the also make high end shocks for all type of racing. They also make shocks for specific commercial applications. My point is a shock like the 5100 is a decent quality shock for not much money that works in a bunch of different applications. It also will last a long time with no maintenance. Basically what you would expect from a large quality OEM. The boutique shock companies make a good quality shock for specific applications that require maintenance and at a higher cost. I think some of the guys new to off roading don't understand that.
I also replace those spherical COM-10T bearings annually. They do fail and develop slop/make noise. I bought my last replacements from shockseals.com. They're cheap. The biggest PITA is the spiral retainer Icon uses vs. just using a regular retaining clip.
