I upgraded my Icon stage 1 to a stage 2 over the weekend (just added upper control arms). it makes a HUGE difference in the way it handles, and I wish I had only done it sooner.

out with the old... the ball joints were actually in pretty good condition. it looks crappy in the picture because I had to take some vice grips to it to keep it from spinning while I un-bolted it. stock ones had about 127,000 miles on them.

in with the new...

and I found a twin when I went to get it aligned! I thought it was pretty crazy, in a town of around 60,000, I rarely see another 4runner, especially not a driftwood pearl in the same shop haha

I also installed a Landcruiser black piano wood steering wheel a while back:

Rebuilt the front end this weekend. put in new LCA bushings, new Cam bolts, Lower ball joints, CV boots, inner axle seals, Wheel bearings, new dust seals for wheel bearings, inner and outer tie rods, new rotors and upgraded to the 5th gen front calipers. a lot of work, but it rides much better, and there are no more noises coming from the front end. I got some stop tech drilled and slotted rotors for improved performance. three of the four cam bolts were seized in place, so I'm not sure how they ever got the alignment in spec, but the guy at Sears said it was a walk in the park to get it with all the new parts.

I also went with a different wheel and tire setup. I put on a set of SCS stealth 6 17" matte black wheels, and some 285/70 R17 Pro Comp Xtreme mud terrains. they are definitely a lot louder, but I like the look of them, and they will add a lot of traction off-road.

I got my dash back last week also, I think it turned out great.

Awesome 4Runner! But I am a little partial since I recently bought a 2007 Driftwood Pearl. How about some more pics of your truck with the new wheels! I am leaning towards the SCS SR8's with 285's and am curious how tucked in the tires are with the Stealth's. I would like to go with another color wheel besides black but it seems like it is only color that is going to look good on the Driftwood Pearl truck, especially once you add bumpers, sliders, and the rack.

Thanks! I'll try and get some shots of it tomorrow. I just ordered an addicted off road front bumper and winch for it, along with a complete set of RCI skid plates. Will be mounting them soon! Driftwood pearl is a great color. I didn't like it at first, but got a great deal on it. The color has grown on me over the years, and it hides dirt really well. Only downside as you noted is that the only color that is a good accent color is black.

Ya, it was super fast. i recieved it before I even got a shipping notification from Amazon. The bumper is supposed to be done Friday, but I'm not holding my breath. AOR takes a little longer than some but his work is top notch and worth the wait. I'll take some detailed pics of it when I pick it up

I picked up my bumper on Friday from Scotty. he is catching a lot of negative comments and opinions on this forum lately, but I can tell you his product is well worth the wait. everything looks great on it and the fitment is excellent. if you look at his Facebook page, he is working on something new for the 4th gens, and after seeing it in person at his shop, I will definitely be ordering one when they are available. just know when you order from him it can easily be a 4 month wait no matter what his stuff says for turn times. Like I said, definitely worth the wait. anyways.... on to the pictures:

I also swapped out the stock ICON springs for 700b King springs. they handle the bumper nicely, and give me a little stiffer ride, which is nice since I don't have a sway bar. I just ordered the ICON 3" rear springs since the rear site a little to low.

Didn't know custom fit seat covers were a thing! Why did you go with Wet Erokle vs Clazzio or Coverking? What did they run you? Love the build and digging the UCAs!

Thanks! The wet okoles have been great. I picked them because I have dogs and am pretty rough on my interior. They had the best resistance to ripping and stains in my eyes. I get dirt and mud all over them, and when I feel like it, I shampoo them with our carpet cleaner and EVERYTHING comes out. They end up looking like new and it only takes me about 10 minutes. I can't remember exactly how much they were, but I got them in a group buy. I want to say they were around 650 with all the options I had. (Tan half piping, 4Runner logo, heated seats)

Nice 4th gen. How much would you say that bumper weights? And how is the v6 handling all that weight plus those tires i would really want 285 on mine but am the type of person if i am able to make it move fast that itll do it.

The bumper isn't much, maybe 150 pounds for the two bumper pieces and 60 for the winch. The power isn't bad, it defiantly has lost some power but I can still get on it when I need to. I love power though. That's why I want to add the urd supercharger. Just have to save up 5k lol

Thanks for the response. Yeah the urd is pretty expensive i though about that but might do headers and y pipe first. These runner looks good with 285. And i just hate when am on the highway and hit a hill from 70 drops to 60 mph and i only have 265/65-17 tires with scs f5 wheels

Your 4Runner looks awesome! I love the front bumper. There was a 2006 Driftwood Pearl for sale on Ebay this past summer with that bumper and that was the first time I had ever seen one. Impressive then and impressive now

Installed a 5th gen battery tray this week. Had to cut and move the power steering resivor mount. One of the bolts matched up with the hole, but I had to drill the other three. Battery is an x2 group 34 deep cycle battery and it fits perfect.

Me too!!! I have a '07 V8 SR5 with 117895 miles on it.. Love it... Collecting ideas for projects...
