Free 37" Wranglers - Will they go on an IFS Yota?

I had a blast, that Tacoma looks nice...the ride....maybe not so nice! :lookout:

Drove it around all day yesterday. Even picked up a truck load of mulch to do yard work with. The tire shop had it inflated to 45 psi so I aired them down to 30 psi. Smoothed the ride out considerable.

I have learned a few things.

37" tires don't balance with lead weights. I will have to run 10 oz of airsoft bb's in each tire and they will always be balanced (wear, mud and so forth).

It will be mandatory that I upgrade to the the tundra brakes. It takes a lot more brake force to stop now.

The speedometer is off by 15% (just a guess), but when my speedo says 50 mph, the droid app says I am going 59 mph.

The stock 3.4 can really push these tires. I can spin tires (2wd) on the street and all four wheels off road.

I am thinking about weld nuts on to the lower ball joints to limit the steering. This will prevent the tires from rubbing on the the frame.

Ground clearance is awesome now. I can clear concrete blocks. I can change the oil with out ramps or a jack.

The only thing i need now is a lunch box locker.

Stock Gears - I think 4:10

The story behind this truck. This is the red headed step child of the family. It gets all the hammy downs. Any time i do an upgrade, I put the new parts on my 4runner and move my 4runner parts onto the Taco. It runs great and has about 130k on it. It is a beater truck that I use for my shop. I am going to paint it dark earth and put my shop's logo on it.

Had to cut down and reweld the tube bumper down to clear the tire.

Personally, I like the truck best, as is (original paint, silver), with no further paint. But it's your rig, so your decision.

Those 37"s look pretty awesome, as does the Tacoma!

No paint and if you do paint then matte black them look good with the desert drab.

I thought about channeling the frame for more steering but haven't figured out how.

Maybe some 2" angle iron cut into the side.

We'll see.

I'd be very careful with that.

The Taco frames aren't boxed like the runner's frame is.

That, and cutting a big chunk out of it, and welding in some angle just doesn't sound like a good idea to me....

The front half is boxed like the 4runner is. They are C channel after the cab.

More 37" tires. This time they are on bullet hole aluminum 10" wide wheels. I got 37 out the ying yang. :dizzy:

They fit like a glove.

Will post up a daylight picture in the AM.
