Right now I am waiting for them to settle out a bit. The front passenger side is still a quarter of an inch higher than the drives side even though I have the coliover cranked up a quarter inch higher on the drivers side. I hate drivers side lean and was hoping I would be able to "crank" it out but so far that has not been the case. This is my first time with coilovers so I am getting used to the adjusting part but I do need to get it realigned soon as my front tires are getting hammered right now.
 
I got the coilovers dialed in where I like them today and took her out for another spin. It literally floats over everything on the soft mode. I ran a washboard dirt road with some small whoops and it just loved it. Then I flexed her out on some local terraces and dirt bike spots. I did have to do a bit of trimming on the wheel wells as I was having a little rubbing. I also removed the bolts in the wheel wells and replaced them with flat headed flush screws. I had to add some one inch wheel spacers to the rear as well to clear the reservoirs.

I highly recommend this setup. It truly is amazing.

Well I took her in for an alignment this morning and the shop just called. My left inner tie rod is shot. Tack on an extra $200. Oh well..... you gotta pay to play!

Lately I had been hearing a popping noise when I would hit bumps on a left turn and I had been wondering. That is a total of $588 spent at the mechanics in the last two weeks (installing UCA's, new shocks, now a tie rod and an alignment). Wish I was more handy with a wrench... I better make some more calls to my clients to pay for all of this.

Aw c'mon man. I wish I could've caught you before you paid to get your inner tie rods replaced. They are really easy to replace and you don't even have to jack your truck up.

The hardest part about the job is mimicking the original inner/outer tie rod threads meeting up, so that your drive to the alignment shop is absolutely horrible.

So, how do they perform overall? Offroad? Onroad? Technical rocky stuff? Fast stuff? I LOVE technical stuff so I would love to have something capable for this.

They are AWESOME you can just dial in the stiffness you want. On road I run them on 4 which is what a standard ICON shock is set at. For off road running fast in the desert I usually put it at S for Soft which is a 1. You can literally dial in your ride.

If you are going to tow you can stiffen them up as high as 9 or turn off the remote reservoir all together by turning it to H for Hard.

I have limit straps on the rear and so far the technical stuff has been much better than my Old Man Emu set up by miles. It sucks up the washboard and small stuff at high speed like butter. It's all that and a bag of chips

Have you also confirmed your steering guide is the upgrade bushing model?

My buddy just did it on his 2004 Tacoma (was running a 98 rack) and I just did mine. Huge difference in steering feel and tightness. I had the odd clunk when hitting a bump while turning sharp (slightly raised concrete off pavement, etc). He said it got rid of his more common clunk. It also reduced or eliminated chatter from the steering wheel.

Cost of parts were about 60-75$ and is a 15 minute job. Super easy. You can tell which guide you have by looking at the cap on the back and determining if it's a innie or outtie. Working off memory, I think the innie's (25mm) are the old style roller guide.

Mentioning this because the dealership also said my buddies inner tie rods were shot when it was the rack guide.

I will just have to call tomorrow. Weren't these introduced a year ago? Youd think they would be listed by now. Are they having issues with them at all?
 
No issues. When I mounted them in the rear we did have to grind one corner of the bump stop steel mount so the remote reservoir hose would not rub. They really are amazing.
