From Jeep to Toyota

Hello, I have been lurking on this forum as well as the Pathfinder forum for a while doing my "research" as to what vehicle would best replace my 2004 Grand Cherokee Overland.

I finally decided that the 5th gen Trail Edition would meet my needs best.

Wow, I had no idea how hard these things were to find, everybody had lots of crossovers, a few SR5s and Limiteds but no TEs.

After a month or so, I finally found the exact one that I was looking for last weekend. 2012 TE, grey with KDSS and nav.

Today is Wednesday and I already have put over 600 miles on it. So far I love this thing more than I ever thought I would. I do miss the power of the Jeep V/8, but I am very happy with the performance of the T4R.

The Overland ran just fine and was pretty fast for what it was. The engine and transmisson were pretty much trouble free, it's just everything else that fails.

I am already getting used to the V/6 in the TE and it will be just fine for power, the sport mode helps a lot in the mountians.

Actually at first could not care less about the useless hood scoop, but I am starting to kind of like it.

Anyway I don't make it to the east coast all that often anymore, so not too likely we will cross paths anytime soon.

I had the same experience in getting my T4R TE, only in silver (NAV&KDSS). Congrats on your new purchase, I am glad to hear of your positive experience so far! Mine just got into the dealer--they called me per my request--at 2030 tonight! I will be in the SoCal area around mid-july. Maybe you can advise some good trails to this new guy?

Congrats on finding your TE too, I hope you like it. I am finding that the more I drive this thing the more I love it.

I assume by your location and where you are going in July that you work for the government (USMC). Thanks for your service.

I am sure you will find plenty of places in the SoCal area to get out on the trails. I am up in the central part of the state about 400 miles from where you are going.
