Front bumper differences between 97 and 98

Hey guys,

New poster here looking for what hopefully is a simple answer.

I want to buy a used t4r but want as new as possible 3rd gen model. I don't like how the front bumper sticks out further on the 99-02 models and was wondering if the bumpers from a 96-98 will fit. It looks as if it is an easy swap but just want to make sure. Thanks guys.

You can but they need to be modded to fit correctly but I'd also check to be sure if the mod can be done with the older bumper going onto the new vs modding a new bumper to go onto a pre '99. The procedure might be different.

yeah i want the old style 96-98 bumper to go onto the 99-02 models. is it much work?

I don't recall there was much work,it was soemething to do with the brackets and modifying the screw holes I think or relocating the them just slightly.

Or, you can do this if you have a 96-98 bumper.
