Front Driver side A-pillar Grab handle?

Do any of the trim levels come with a front driver side grab handel on the A-Pillar? If so, can the trim pieces be retrofitted to fit an SR5 TR4? Thanks

No trim levels come with drivers side grab handle.
Common to just use the steering wheel.

I was curious about rear grab handles as well, given that the 4th gen (2009 model) has grab handles on all 4 pillars (driver front/rear , passenger front/rear).

Check here to see all trim, and you'll notice none of them have it on the driver side when looking at the frontal/dash view. Toyota 4Runner Interior - 360 View

Well, when climbing into a lifted vehicle, i have always found it better to grab onto a secure grab handle than my steering wheel. But since it is not offered i guess the steering wheel will have to do.

They do have a recessed grab handle up above each door on the inside if I recall ,if you want to use that.Just not a protruding one like on the passenger side.

I wouldn't trust that handle with any serious weight. Also, did anyone notice how flimsy the dry cleaning hooks are in the back seat?

^Yes, I did notice that the hanger hooks in the back don't appear to be all that sturdy.

Side note. I'm working on a net/mesh system if you will that spans across the top of the concaved portion of the roof liner, rear seats back, as extra storage space. When in place and taunt the net will hold sleeping stuff when camping/sleeping in the 4r. The idea is to be able to stash stuff (pistol, head lamp, blanket, etc.....) up off the floor at night when I have a double air matress out and in use. I don't like clutter so this would potentially help w/ that and keep things organized. When not needed I will simply unclip from four corners (the hanger hooks will be 2 of the 4 anchor points if they end up being sturdy enough), with more anchor points as needed, and remove it. Thus far I've purchased thin corded elastic bungee cord rope, and have a general idea as to how I want it to all come together.

Has anyone done that?

The 5th Gen T4R is not sold on RHD countries.

But does a LC Prado have a similar handle?

This one has a tweeter in the panel so it wouldn't quite work. It may be a totally different shape anyway.

Did you read the thread that Ryan S posted above? THis has been talked about, it's not that anyone doesn't know "how to solve it", its simply not worth repeating when there's already a clear discussion on it. The URL above should provide you all the information you need.

keep in mind there is an air bag that runs the length of that A-piller. a retro could get wicked messy.:toilet:

so I did a google search and found this thread.

I used Ryan's link which links back to this thread. Talk about circuitous reference!

So I am wondering if there is a definitive answer to adding a grab handle on the driver's side?

Also, there is a curtain airbag on the A pillar... Not sure it's coverage area...
