Front End Design

So I have an 05 T4R and absolutely love the front end design, why did they go back to the Durango looking round fog lamps on the 06-08 model?
I think the European styling has a way better look, and I am not trying to knock any one who owns a newer one, was just wondering if Toyota was trying to be more American in the styling.

I doubt that Toyota even considers the lights to be one style or the other.

The round fog lights were probably cheaper. Maybe Toyota saved money on the round fog lights as a way to offset the cost of switching to LED taillights; that is if the LED tails are more expensive than the earlier ones.

Maybe Toyota was keeping styling similar to Tacoma as the instrument cluster too is very similar between the 4Runner and Tacoma

That was disproven back in the 70's when the first "square" headlights came out. The D.O.T. wouldn't allow them at first, claiming that the light put out of round headlights was better. Tests showed that wasn't true, thus shapes other than round were eventually allowed.

I was really just thinking the 05 set up looked better than current ,and was curious why the design change?
