Front fender well liner removal

I want to pull the front fender well liner to add some sound deadening so the fender doesn't have the hollow, thin, tinny sound when you tap on it. I also think it might make adding grounding straps to the hood and door hinges easier (it's a ham radio thing).

I've got the repair manual so I know the listed procedure. However, I remember reading here that it can be a real PIA so I figured I'd ask for any tips & tricks before I take it on. Also, what clips will need replacing vs those that can be easily re-used.
