Front license plate holes on Trail

So the dealer drilled two big holes into my bumper to put a license plate... Which I don't need....Does anyone know if there is any kind of plastic cap/plug that will come close to match the Trail font bumper plastic? worst case I could just leave it like it is and just continue to die a little more inside every time I look at it.

Things I've seen:
1. Use the front plate
2. Paint some scews black and plug the holes with them
3. 'bumperplugs.com' (no affiliation) makes plastic caps that go in holes for Porsche; seen some guys use them on non-Porsches
4. Solder iron to melt hole into a recessed dimple

I purchased 2 button top Allen head stainless screws at Home Depot and plugged the holes with them.

Looks better than the holes. I'm dead inside too. :lmao:

I got some black nylon plugs from Lowes. It matches my black SR5 perfectly!

Great guys thanks! I can see it now "babeee what's the point of spending $2 on plastic plugs when that's $2 that could go towards the shockworks bumper!?"

Thanks for the help... I wouldn't care if it was two small holes but the plastic is sticking out from the thread in reverse... They were not so gentle with my baby... She only had 24 miles on her when they drilled her...

Not sure if it helps, I've used Hillman Variable Depth Push Fasteners for GM, Model #881201. Lowes has it here. I had to make those fasteners a little bit shorter and that's it.

Well, if you happen to park in San Francisco you will get a $75 ticket for not having a front plate. I wonder if they spare out-of-staters this punishment though.

So much easier, why didn't I think of that...

The real problem is on white. I have a 14 TE with blacked out front, so the holes don't bother me. My girl has a 16 SR5 (ALL WHITE - :mmph and just took her plates off... big difference.

Looks like two massive identical twin bugs met their fate at exactly the same time.

Still looks better than the plastic plate cover, though. We'll see what I come up with.

What did you use to plug those?? - Also, I am not a huge fan of the Bumper Plugs. Those things are super chunky and even more lame than just having holes. I guess I'm still searching. Not a huge deal, just one of those things you stare at every time you see it...

Get some lowes plugs and a can of whatchamacallit spray paint that matches your body code.

Respectfully demand that the dealer replace your front bumper cover with a new one that doesn't have needless holes drilled in it. Alternatively, ask for an equivalent price adjustment on the sale price of your new rig. You could use that money to go toward an slimline aftermarket bumper.
