Front shock 2008 6 cyl. urbon runner 4 wd

Just was given price on passenger side shock front replace with esr $905.00 called another dealer , He said replace both is best pair is $1003.00 ?

Can you tell me which is correct and do they recomend Pairs ? he said just one makes it ride uneven .

I just dont know who to believe .

I have XREAS on the 4 runner . It has the lines running off of it .

yes do it in pairs. Just because its not leaking does not mean it is not worn.

Internal seals are leaked through. It may rebound slower than you think.,, IMO replace all 4 shocks.

If you plan on selling the truck. get 1 replace. Even then I would still replace both. 900 is kinda high. I would sat shop prices is 2 hrs max per side on labor.. Take it to a independent shop for a quote.

WEll with xreas.. yes that price is about correct.. replace them all with bilsteins. it will be around 900 for all 4 installed.

There is a lot of great info on here if you search. Toyota dealers will only replace with factory installed components so I decided to ditch the XREAS. I have a 2006 Sport Edition V6 with just over 140000 and my XREAS was shot. I purchased front struts and rear shocks from a 2014 Tacoma TRD Sport edition locally for $50. Purchased a set of rear 2014 FJ Cruiser springs for $100.00 shipped from a member over on the FJ Crusier forum. I had a local 4x4 suspension shop install and do an alignment for $500.00. Total cost $650.00 and she is riding like a new truck with a little bit of lift as a bonus. ARK_SWAMPER started a thread on this swap and has great info on this. You have other options too like the Bilsteins and FJ coils. I just did this a few weeks ago and checked craigslist boards all over for parts, there were a few sets of coils in Atlanta and Ashville, NC that I was considering, they might still be available. Good luck! I don't know what I would have done without this forum.

I replaced the shocks (Bilstein 5100's) and springs (Moog) with new front and back and it cost less than $500.00. Did the install myself. Handles better than new. :lookout:

I've seen a thread where a guy dropped the cash to replace all 4 and get the creas working again. He was happy, but I would never pay that much to get the system working again.

Although I have never experienced the greatness that is xreas, I am very happy with my 5100s.
