Has anyone looked that route? Weight difference in engines maybe different springs? Could the tundra/sequia fit the 4Rs?

The V8 springs are different; same rate and 5mm longer.

The FJC front springs may be an answer for us V6 guys who want a mild leveling without spacers, although the Cornfed 1" seems like a pretty good way to go. FJC spings measure about 14", our springs are 340mm (approx. 13.4") in length.

I just bought a set of FJC springs off of EBAY. I'll let everyone know.

OK Im stupid .... is there longer coils on the back of the FJ or does it have leafs ?

They're longer, I think. I bought a set of all 4 stock FJC springs. ($55 to the door) As soon as they are here I'll post the gauge of the spring, # of coils and length.

PS- I only want the fronts and might consider parting (cheap) with the rears if they have value for someones T4R.

Why would you not use the rear springs ?

The short answer is I'm a wimp.

The longer answer is my 4Runner is my daily driver. I don't need any more capability than it currently has but I have 'tinker', it's part of my illness. :bash:

My goal is to level the vehicle and end up with some all-season/all-terrain 255/75/17's or 265/70/17's. A secondary factor is all of this lifting/big tire thing can cut my MPG. I am trying to give up as little as possible on that front hence the mention of 255/75/17's; I've even thought about 235/80's.

I do have AirLift 1000 in the rear that prevents sag. In fact with only 5psi (the min pressure required at all times) the rear is up 1/4-1/2" over stock.

I don't want anything higher or more radical than the equivalent of the Cornfed 1" spacer and slightly bigger tires. I'm pursuing the springs rather than the spacer lift because I think I will retain 100% of the sweet ride quality of stock. If I were tuning the suspension to my taste I would have a touch more compression travel. I would be willing to give up a touch of rebound travel. I think for my needs, the slightly longer FJC spring in the front will be perfect, it'll level it out, retain my ride quality and not be too radical for my taste/needs.

My understanding is the spacer kits don't ride quite as well.

We'll see and I welcome any opinions or thoughts

Although I love the 2/1 lift I too am in a similar position as a daily driver . I've got the 1" CF kit , but never installed it yet. For me there is a form/function thing , I like to play off road , but I drive about 25k per year so you can see where I'm coming from too. I love the ride and handling of my 4R and am hesitant to give that up along with warranty issues ect.... gas milage which I don't really care about but dont want it dropping to 12 since I fell I get great milage with my V8 4x4 the way it is . I am running bigger tires P265/70/17 Revos , not my favorite tire , but my gas milage has been great , wet weather driving great , dry great . off road and snow has been so , so , but has got me through none the less , only been stuck 2x so far. ....lol.

I'm interested to see how the front FJ springs work out . That may be a good ticket. I do you how much longer the backs are ?

I guess my practical goal would be the 1" front kit , and some FJ wheels to widen the stance a bit and pull the tires/rims out , similar to what Even Steven did with his truck , it's a nice practical solution that between looks , form & function.

It sounds like our goals/tastes are similar and tempered by the same concerns. You said it, "...practical solution that between looks, form & function". I agree on the FJ rims and EvenSteven DOES have a very appealing setup as far as I'm concerned.

I'll measure and post the front and rear spring dimensions when they arrive. I hope they're here early next week.

Please keep us updated. I have thought about getting the FJC TRD springs and shocks. I have seen them on ebay every so often

A simple search would have revealed good info pertaining to FJ rear coils installed on a 4th gen.

FJ coils: the truth

The truck sits very nice with a 2" daystar spacer in front.

My FJC Front Springs are here, finally! Once again, I plan to use the front springs on my

Some said spring spacer ride fine and only thing noticeable is the rear is slightly stiffer if you go to a 2/1 or a 3/2 . From what I heard the 1" leveling kit does not change the ride .
