I reached the drivers side turn signal on my 2005 by laying on my back and reaching up...like noted before it turns and pops in and out. A little tricky to get right, but by no means difficult.

I am new here. I am trying to replace my 1999's front driver side turn signal bulb, and it looks like the whole case comes off (otherwise I have to go into the fender with a very small hand to get at the thing), but I cannot get he damn thing to come off, at all. I hate paying someone to change a freakin' bulb! Is there a trick I am missing? I know the rear ones push to the side and pop off, but the front won't budge!

Go search or ask in the 3rd gen section, 4th gens started motor year 2003. The guys on in the 3rd will fix you right up I am sure...

I would recommend the lay on the back method and just reach up. I'd feel the one on the passenger side first so you can do it without looking and make sure you don't have T-Rex arms and it should take 5 minutes or less. I replaced the bulb while standing above it though as it was easy to use two hands once the socket is removed from the light to remove the burnt out bulb and twist/push in the new one.

a 4 year old thread; brought back to life! Is yours 03-05 (in bumper) or 06-09 (in headlight housing)?

dont know if this is the same for 03-05 but on my 09 i opened the hood and took out the two rubber like covers that are attached to the bumper sub frame and now i can reach my fog lights bulbs so it should work on 03-05.

Just to be clear. It sounds like you are describing the "Side Marker" lamp which is part of the headlight housing on a 2003. On a 2003, the "Turn Signal" lamp is lower bumper area.
It is a bit of a pain to reach the "Side Marker" lamp on the drivers side. You have to turn the bulb socket counter clockwise about a quarter turn and then wiggle it a bit to get it out of the headlight housing.
The "Turn Signal" lamp is accessed from under the front bumper. Again turn the bulb socket counter clockwise about a quarter turn and then you may have to wiggle it a bit to get it out of the housing.

lay on ur baac, turn the bulb holder abt 60 - 135 degress n pull stright out....piece of cake, u cud practise with ur parking lights its saame procedure

I could turn the socket a 1/4 turn by hand. The rest of way I had to use pliers. Difficult to tell if it's lose when using pliers so you have to turn a bit then check. Not sure why these sockets are so hard to turn. Must be the gasket that helps keep moisture out of the lens. Thanks.

Replaced bulb, still having issues??
I have a '03 and I just replaced the left front turn signal. Took less than 5 minutes. But I'm still having the same issues. Inside on the instrument panel I get the "fast blink" and nothing has changed on my front left turn signal, even with the new bulb. Has anyone had this issue before? Diagnosis?
I should note that I took the bulb out, put it back in and locked the assembly in place. I'm not sure what's going on. Thanks for the advice!

I figured out the issue...
I had the bulb plugged into the socket backward. When I first installed it, the bulb felt like it was plugged in snug, and I figured it could only plug in one way. When I continued to have issues, I looked at the burned out bulb and realized I had it plugged in backward. yes, I'm a tool...but at least it's working again!

Unconnected connector found when replacing ts bulb
I am new to this forum, and am the second owner of my wonderful 2003 V6 4R, and doing my own maintenance for the first time.
While replacing my front passenger side turn signal bulb today, I noticed a connector hanging down nearby which looks to be unconnected from 'who knows what'.
Maybe someone here knows where this stray connector should be connected and to what system?
The attached pic is taken looking up from my garage floor. The red connector in the center of pic is my runninglight/ts area and the white connector just to the right is the connector in question. Did this disconnect from something I cannot see? I cannot imagine that it is just supposed to be open, and unconnected hanging in that manner.
Any help is appreciated!

bulb burning out
I recently had my front turn signal bulbs replaced (I drove a 2005 sport on which the turn signal bulbs are daytime running amber mounted in the bumper next to the fog lamps) because the driver side bulb had burned out. A few weeks later I noticed that the driver side bulb had turned noticeably whiter in color, took it back in, they swapped the bulb for free...but showed me that the bulb they removed was on its way to burning out. Now a few more weeks later it's burning out again. Anyone have similar experiences? Seems like it could be receiving too much current...maybe swap a fuse? Any option to LED retrofit?
