Front wheel drive strange noise

Over a few months ago I started to hear a strange humming noise, very similar to the one when the truck is engaged in 4L, but under normal 2wd drive conditions (no 4wd engaged at all during this period). I took it to dealership and they suggested and made a "a kit repair" of the Power Steering System, but the humming sound persisted. Any suggestions on steps for me on how to diagnose, as the driver with basic mechanic knowledge, before and when bringing the truck to service this issue in order to receive the proper solution?

Wheel bearings perhaps? Jack up the front end and spin the tires.

Yeah, sounds like the usual "humming" noise associated with wheel bearings. Do as Little Caesar suggests to do a process of elimination (Even though that sounds like the culprit).

No, but I will try that first. Do you know if the, sort to say, "oscillation" in the humming sound when moving the steering wheel while the truck is parked and cold started may be related to a possible problem in the wheel bearings?

That was also my first guest when I initially took for servicing, but my confusion began when two different shops, including the dealership, denied from start to check them assuming my description was "wrong". I thank you both for the feedback, now I will restart the task of finding someone with previous experience in servicing this parts.
