Has anyone run this roof rack without the deflection bars? Any issues?

Yes, I did for 2 weeks after installation. It felt like my 4Runner was going to vibrate to pieces at 55mph or higher. Needless to say, it was an amazing difference after I installed the deflectors. I definitely recommend installing them.

Well over the last few days with mine off I love it. I can use the sunroof again and seems like the gas mileage has come back up 1-2 miles per gallon. I also put the CVT back on to see how that works with the bars removed and have not noticed any bad side effects.
