Frozen Cams found during alignment..

I was told by 4Wheelparts that my cams were frozen and they cant align my baby without new UCA's. They suggested new camburgs for $599 and $130 alignment plus $180 for labor :( anyone know where to get Camburgs for cheaper?

Can't help you with the Camburgs, but have you considered spc or light racing? Got my lr ucas on sale for $375 shipped, and they've been great so far.

Also, uca installation is very easy, I personally wouldn't pay to have it done.
 
im lost here. I thought Camberg only sells the upper control arm and the alignment cams are only on the lower control arm?

They cost so much becasue they "specialize in offroad vehicles" and making sure they are back to factory specs.

While I can believe that the alignment cams are seized, I would NEVER take a vehicle to 4wp.

Seized cams are a big problem. I have had to deal with a few 3rd gens with them. Once you get them out the MUST be coated in anti-seize.

Getting them out takes some doing.

Yeah, but the stock alignment cams are on the Lower control arms.

If they are seized what does that have to do with the uppers? How much lift are you running? I couldnt imagine why you couldnt get the truck close to spec with 1-2.5" lift up front.

Im almost thinking they want to sell you some UCAs

Well gerdo, Ive taken the your advise in the past and I wont stop now. Do you suggest another shop to get the alignment?

Caster .98
Toe .37

FR:
Camber .49
Caster .74
Toe .34

Front end:
Cross Camber .52
Cross Caster .24
Total Toe .71

I have Firestone Lifetime alignments. The 2 shops that I go to do a great job.
With us wheeling and changing/adjusting our suspensions, It's a great deal. They do have sales on the alignments from time to time.

Usually when a shop says "we got it as good as we could", they usually don't tell you that the alignment cams are seized and they couldn't adjust them and it's close enough. I know of 4 people that have had seized cams and alignment shops never told them, including me. I found mine when I was working on my rig.

Big O and Toyota both said it was "aligned" but ive never recived paperwork on the specs until today

Why are the camber numbers positive? Please tell me this is a mistake.

Indeed, you need an alignment.


I don't know the alignment specs off hand for your truck but I am estimating you to be nearly 2° in the wrong direction for camber which, as far as alignments are concerned, is very significant.


I'm asking out of sheer curiosity but is the vehicle pulling left?

I was talking with Dillon on the 2nd trip and he suggested going with light racing since the mech chloride will be hard on the exposed ball joints with camburg, icon, total chaos, all-pro. this is why i am going with spc/light racing also summit racing had the best price on them that I found so far

mech chloride, what is that?
 
He meant Mag Chloride (Magnesium Chloride). Deicing agent used on CO roads to prevent icing on the roadways. Better than salt, but still sucks for bolts/hardware.

How the F*** are you CGuava, long time! Are you going to join us this trail?

(composed face) Since im not going to have my truck in Colorado for anymore than 1.5 months longer, could the camburgs or ICON be a choice and if so which one?
