FS: 1988 4runner, Cheyenne, WY $3600 obo
Hey all. The time has come for me to sell my 88 4runner. I'll try to include as many details as possible here. Ask any questions you may have.
I am the third owner. I bought the truck a few years ago in Wisconsin. Truck was originally from CA, and then spent 13 years in WI, before I brought it back here. I had planned on fully restoring it, but a year ago I became chronically ill, and now I no longer have the energy or money to restore it. I need the money for med bills. The truck is very mechanically sound and can be driven anywhere no problem, though it could use some new suspension components. The interior is in great condition for its age. There is a crack in the dash. Here are some of the details:
- 4x4, 5 speed manual, 3.0L 6 cylinder
- Almost all stock
- Currently has 213450 miles
- Red exterior, blue/gray interior
- The top is removable to make the truck a convertible
- Heat/AC work
- Cruise control works
- Aftermarket CD/tape player works
- Aisin locking front hubs
- Automatic front windows and rear hatch window, locking doors
- Sunroof
- Toyo tires have plenty of life left
Some of the notable maintenance includes:
- Just installed a remanufactured starter last week, along with battery wire terminal
- New battery
- Engine rebuilt at 121000 with the updated head gasket via Toyota recall
- New muffler installed 5 years ago
- Timing belt, water pump and idler pulley done at 206800
- Rear brakes rebuilt at 142000
- Valve cover gasket done at 205700
- Clutch rebuilt at 183600
- Front brake pads and rotors at 189000
- Aisin locking hubs installed at 202000
- I have a folder full of other maintenance records from the previous owner
The bad:
- As you can see in the pictures, the truck does have several rust spots, and undercarriage rust. Had a mechanic that specializes in toyotas look at the rust and he said there are no structural issues
- Passenger side automatic window does not currently work. I plan on taking the door panel off and will probably fix it in the next week
- The gas gauge sensor is broken, so I've just gone off trip odometer for filling up
- The front windshield has a crack
