After recently purchasing a new 4Runner, I’m reluctantly parting ways with my 3rd gen. She’s a 2001 4Runner w 247,000 that I’ve had for almost 12 years and have driven all over the country. Without getting into everything I’ve done over the years, I’ll keep it simple and just say that I take great care of things that I own. I was a mechanic for around 10 years and have always preferred to do maintenance myself. If you’re interested in the specifics, PM me. Everything works on this vehicle and I have done my best to replace anything that has broken or worn out as I go. I have had zero driveline issues and have taken at least two to three 12+hr trips annually with zero problems.

Again, I can provide the specific dates/mileage of the maintenance if you’re interested. I run through the vehicle top-to-bottom a few times a year, so I’ll also let you in on the little quirks and the maintenance I had planned for later this year.

The good:
- 4wd – Full time and part time w center diff lock
- Sunroof
- 1” lift (Bilstein up front and eibach rear springs)
- Rear air bags
- Powerstop ceramic pads w/ drilled and slotted rotors
- Leather seats (with a little age on them)
- Sliding tray in cargo area (I used it for our cooler when we travelled)
- 3-owner vehicle and I know the second owners
- Wreck-free vehicle (someone backed into my bumper once, but that’s it)
- Kenwood aftermarket stereo (Bluetooth streaming w mic for hands free calls)
- Title is in hand
- It was factory upgraded with most of the premium features but doesn’t have the woodgrain of the premium
- Autocheck is attached
The not good:
- Driver’s side seat leather has a rip on the side
- Front bumper has a dent on the driver’s side
- Paint is in good shape, but there are few small dings in places
- Yakima load bars and mounts do not come w the vehicle – I use these to mount my Eezi-awn and may use these on my new 4Runner
