I used to be a Toyota Mechanic and bought this car as a trade in at the dealership. The previous owner was an old man who had the vehicle and took meticulous care of it. He only traded it in because his wife got to the point she could not get in and out of it. But before he traded it in he brought it into the dealership and had everything under the sun done to it. A full service including timing belt, transfer case service, transmission service, rear end service, radiator, etc..... (all in last 20k miles)
I purchased it because it was the cleanest 4runner I had seen and was a great price.
Since owning it (20k miles), I had to replace the spark plugs along with one pesky fuel injector (it had a misfire code and I was hoping spark plugs would be the quick and easy fix), and I replaced the valve cover gaskets due to a little oil seepage.
Other than that I have upgraded a few items:
I installed a lift (bilstein 5100s in the front and spacer in the rear ) 1.5 inches front and back, helps clear tires but isn't obnoxiously high
265/75r16 Firestone Destination M/Ts (1000 miles on them) 4 wheel alignment
Spider Trax wheel spacers 1.5inch
D-Shackle Mounts up front (replaced factory tow hooks)
Deck Plate Mod & K&N drop in filter
TRD Transmission Cooler (Keeps Tranny cool when towing)
2006 Tundra Front Brakes (caliper, rotor, and factory ceramic pads)
All mods are very tasteful and the brake mod is personally the best vehicle upgrade decision I have ever made, stock 4runners are not the best at slowing down but this rig stops fantastic even when towing. I had aspirations of taking this vehicle on the trails in the Appalachians but had to move to aggieland before I had finished everything to get it ready. I have never had it off road even though it is set up perfectly for trail riding.
The interior and exterior are in great shape for a 4runner with 198k. No rips anywhere and the paint is still good with no fading. There are some normal rock chips and minor blemishes but it is a used vehicle. Keep in mind I moved here from North Carolina so this car has not been baking in the Texas sun for the past 10 years.
Mechanically sound and all maintenance is up to date. All features on this car are in good working order from 4wd system, windows, climate control, A/C, sunroof, etc. Car even comes with original floor mats, original cargo mat, 1 original remote fob and 2 sets of keys.
I don't drive it that often anymore (hence 20k miles in 3 years including driving from NC to Texas), and would like to see it go to someone who could enjoy it. I will not talk price unless you have seen the vehicle first (so no out of state shipping, no payment plans, no Nigerian prince, any other scam, etc.) I am more than happy answer any questions.
