Freight shipping is expensive and pretty standard. They go off of weight, dimensions and shipping class. Distance doesn't effect it too much. It costs the same to ship one to CO as it does to MA. I drive these down to the shipping hubs in Sacramento and use whoever gives the lowest price at the time.
They have to be able to have access with a semi truck to keep the cost down. That's why shipping to a business is cheaper. Residential and some smaller businesses are considered "limited access" and will cost twice as much.
Only other cheaper option is to order a shorter 60" rack and that can ship via Greyhound bus to your closest terminal for about $100.
