I'll probablly be driving my truck down to pick it up and install it on my 4Runner when I get back. I have a few other packages down there to pick up so I'm just waiting for the roof rack to make the trip down.

has anyone recently received their rack? if so, when did you order it?
It's been 11 weeks (Aug26) since I ordered and paid for a rack and I still haven't received it. I was initially told 4 weeks, then 6 weeks, then 8 weeks. I do know that Alex is overwhelmed with orders and had to change powder coaters and an employee quit.
just curious if others have been waiting this long and if you've heard from Alex or received yours.

anyone have a good idea for carrying snowboards and skis???
I was thinking about getting a thule rack and mounting it to the mesh on the bottom, god forbid i mount it to the bars and make my vehicle any higher...
I also though about maybe using pool noodles and the existing cross bars to clamp stuff down?
The season is upon us, what are you guys doing?

ski rack or box
get a ski rack or box that mounts to the existing crossbars on the rack. Or grab your noodles, some velco, a little duct tape and some bungee cords and do it the right way.

Seriously though I would just go with a box or ski rack (i.e. Yakima) that mounts to the round crossbars. If it's a ski rack then when they're not in use you could rotate them horizontal with the roof.

I don't want to mount the rack the the cross bars because I think it looks "off" If I get the thule snowboard holder. Then I want to attach it to the base metal mesh so it's below the wind shield.
Was just seeing if anyone else came up with an idea that didn't involve buying an additional rack.

I wouldn't do it that way...not to mention you will probably have clearance issues with the boards anyway. Use the cross bars for what they are meant to do.
***Second thought - just buy a Yakima Sky box - problem solved. That is what I use for snowboard and skis - just throw 'em in after boarding and close the lid.
