Alex just put mine on the tuck today. I may have the only known picture of this 3/4 length rack, but I'm gonna wait and let him put it up, as it is his product. as soon as i have it installed, you guys will see it in this thread.

It should be arriving at the shipping depot around the end of next week, but seeing as i work shift work i may not be able to pick it up or install it until the New Year...

Roof Rack

I ordered a rack from Alex in August. As of December I had not received it. I was originally told it would take 4 weeks, but after 4 months I still had nothing. I remained patient and nice in my communications, but eventually decided that this was not someone I could do business with. I also lost confidence that I would ever receive my rack. I asked Alex to cancel my order and refund me. He told me he would(in writing), but weeks later nothing has happened. Now I have no rack and am out $1200.

I have now disputed the charge with the credit card company.

I realize Alex has been overwhelmed by his own success, but this is ridiculous. A better business would offer some sort discount or other compensation for this type of treatment. Alex just makes excuses.

Just an FYI for anyone considering ordering one...

I am not trying to flame or otherwise be negative about Alex, just telling the truth about my experience.

Tagging along as I ordered around mid-November and was told somewhere around 6 to 8 weeks on my order. Curious to see response.

I ordered mine early September and Alex told me it will be ready this week. Since his workshop is only 20 minutes away from my house I will go to install it at his workshop.

I got the same initial 4 weeks of estimation for delivery however later he extended it to 8 weeks and I'm getting it after 3 months. He was really late but also consider the two problems he had with the powder coater which for my case it delayed the delivery for almost a month. And as said above for whoever that just ordered or wants to order, your best bet is to call him.

I was considering the Gobi too until I saw one in Alex's workshop that was done and was ready for powder-coating. I really liked it, however nothing against Gobi racks, I just think this rack will be more functional (all personal preferences).

I ordered mine in late October. As much as I would like to have it now, I understand it takes time to make these and him being one person, sometimes life comes first. All the reviews of his rack have been outstanding and to me, it's worth the wait. Every time I have contacted him with a question, he responds within one day and in most cases within a few hours.

Just to throw some feedback on the rack, the wait was worth it! Got it installed a while back and I love it. It seems extremely sturdy and the fit and finish was much better than I expected. I also have to give props on the shipping. It was packaged really well.

I think I got one of the racks from the new powder coater, but I'm not sure. It seemed really well done. I got a Gobi ladder on the way and I'm hoping that they look good together.

Can anyone tell me how well the XM radio antenna functions after the install of the rack? I have my rack on order, and hopefully a Hi-Lift Jack mount too. I'll be doing some extensive overlanding trips this coming summer and fall, and just think XM will work better than anything else for tunes.

Also, has anyone mounted a RTT on one of these racks? I have a AutohomeUS Columbus medium that I have used for over 10 years. Now I'm thinking of putting it up on the rack for some of these trips. Either that or some solar panels.

Regarding XM I tried it for almost an hour and it worked well, no problem.

For RTT I think the roof rack will handle it without any problem.
