Hey everybody, it's with a heavy heart that I put up for adoption (and potential dismemberment) my faithful runner.
FAIR WARNING - I'm active duty stationed out here in NC where I've brought this runner up with me from nearly two decades of salted roads in Chicago. There is MORE than it's share of rust on the undercarriage; to the extent that it's eaten away a significant portion of the exhaust. However, no codes are thrown and everything exhaust-wise bad is after the o2 sensor, and the body and cabin are in decent shape - if you plan on renewing registration and driving this the exhaust will need to be swapped.
That being clearly stated I've got her priced essentially what she's worth as a rolling chassis with parts, and she most certainly has a few nice ones. If I had the time or space I'd happily party it out for you all (and to my wallet's appreciation as well), but the way the world's going now this is my best attempt at being expeditious.
Without further gilding my crappy lily, lets get into it.
The Good:
Tundra brake mod (231mm) protected with high-temp epoxy (w/ brand new pads that I haven't yet replaced)
New rear drums, shoes, wheel cylinders and hardware.
Level 8 mk.6 wheels with 31.25' tires
New Starter & battery @ 135k
Timing belt done @128k
OME 3" lift (891's) @140k
OME 1" Body Lift & diff. drop kit new, in box.
LBJ's & Tie-rods @140k (I have fresh UBJ's as well that aren't on yet)
Wotefusi Snorkel
Every Available option from factory that I know of: dual power leather seats, sunroof, roof rack, e-diff, running boards, cargo cover, etc...
JVC Head unit & kicker speakers
Uniden Bearcat 980(Single Sideband) CB radio integrated into the center console with which I'm happy to include several different antenna and mounts.
Oil & filter changed every 3-4,000mi.
Strong, no drama engine
New front window glass
The Bad:
The transmission (while once selected shifts through gears quite flawlessly) is a little funky. Now I appreciate Stevie Wonder as much as the next guy, but funk is not a great quality for a vehicle's transmission to have. The funk seems to manifest itself as only making available one of the low range gears, either "1" or "2" not sure which. I've never had a drivability issue with it and 4x4 still engages fine.
Rust has pretty thoroughly thrashed the undercarriage
The Ugly:
Also rust
Bottom of the front bumper has a crack
I removed the front bottom fender flares to fit the larger tires without rubbing (I guess that ugly is subjective)
paint has a handful of trail scratches and scrapes.
Honesty is paramount to me, especially here, so while I think I've covered everything (good and bad) if you have any questions or want more pictures/information about anything specific toss it down here and I'll answer it to the best of my ability. My intention is NOT to sell somebody a vehicle that isn't exactly what they expect. Price is OBO - you won't insult me with offers and I'd like to move this quickly, one of my local dealerships offered me 4k and change as a trade-in but I'd much rather sell it for cash AND to somebody who'd get good use out of it in whatever capacity they decide; after all the whole idea here is to not be paying off a car and storing it if I get deployed.
Anyways thanks for checkin' out my post. Cheers and happy trails.
