Above is the link to the sale thread by [MENTION=62182]01KY4R[/MENTION] for the OEM Stellar Blue Sport hood. I probably don't have to tell you how rare these Stellar Blue Sport hoods are. I searched for a year and finally found mine in Long Beach, California.
So I am anxious to get my Stellar Blue Sport grille shipped to me. I am lowering the price of this OEM Sport hood to $150. You are getting a complete Sport hood for the price of the scoop insert! I don't know how to make this deal any better than that.
Today geography is going to work in someone's favor.
For a while now I have been looking for an original Stellar Blue Sport grille from a 2002 4Runner. I finally found one in the Cincinnati area of Ohio. I purchased the Sport grille then I found out later that they also had a nice OEM Stellar Blue Sport hood for sale as well. This got me thinking about a deal I could make with a lucky fellow forum member, so I went ahead and bought the Sport hood.

Basically a forum member here can pay me $195 to get this Sport hood as long as they agree to ship me the Sport grille.
Keep in mind that the scoop insert and associated parts costs $150 from Toyota. This means that you are getting an OEM Sport hood (without the scoop insert) for $45 plus the cost of gas, a box, and some bubble wrap! Again, you are getting a complete Sport hood, but I wanted to break it down for you so that you will see that you cannot lose on this deal.
I will cover the actual shipping cost for sending the grille to Texas. It needs to be wrapped with large bubble bubble wrap and double boxed so it will arrive intact. I would prefer USPS because I think that they are less likely to damage it.
Once you have sent me a PayPal for $195 I will give you the info to pick up the hood and grille. I have been told that both are in good condition, but unfortunately I don't have any photos. The Sport hood is complete and looks good except for a tiny bit of surface rust on the underside of the front lip - not on top. I trust this salvage company - they have been in business for a long time. Based on what I know if this hood were in Texas I would sell it for between $350 and $380.
I need you to simply pick up the hood and grille and not inspect the hood like you are shopping. My contact there will ask for your ID. If for some crazy reason you decide that you don't want the hood I will refund your $195, but I still need you to pick up these two items. In this scenario I would make other arrangements to get the hood from you. The more I think about it this scenario doesn't even make sense. If you don't want the hood why would you not sell it for $380 and make a $185 profit? I would still need you to ship me the grille, but of course I would still pay for shipping if you don't want the hood.
If you are not too far away from the Cincinnati area this is truly a no risk opportunity for you. I have a full-time job so I can't drive all over the country picking up parts for my 4Runner, and salvage yards simply refuse to ship. It would probably be worth driving a few hours to get this hood - they are rare as you know and Toyota isn't making any more of them. As always, the first person to PayPal me gets the hood. If your 4Runner is one of the six colors listed above you should probably wait for a Sport hood that is color-matched.
For anyone else you just need to get a Sport hood in any color and have it painted to match your 4Runner.
