For sale is my Detours Offroad RidgeRunner Swing-Away Tire Carrier. Specifically designed for the 4th/5th Gen 4Runner yet suitable for many different vehicles.
Features a semi-contour fitting the rear bumper radius as well as an internal 2" receiver wedge lock/anti-wobble, 2000lb toggle retention, adjustable mounting head, hitch, dual shear bronze hinge, and license plate relocation. This carrier will hold a 35" tire, no problem. Ultra high clearance as well as approach/departure friendly and yes, Gobi ladder friendly as well. The RidgeRunner sits closer to the hatch with less of a gap compared to other hitch mounted carriers.

I’ve had this tire carrier mounted on my 2014 4Runner for over a year without any issue. I used this carrier to hold my 295/70/17 spare and took it through numerous trips that required hundreds of miles of unpaved forest trails and never once has the wedge lock gotten loose. I originally purchased the carrier brand new and had it powdered coated with a textured black at Ken’s Powder Coating in Tacoma.
Tire carrier itself weighs roughly 37lbs. The RidgeRunner Swing-Away Carrier sells for $625.00 before shipping. Then add an additional $250 I paid for powder coating.
Selling this because I have now have a steel swing-out bumper.
