97 4runner
Black 97 Limited 3.4 4runner Auto with 198K miles Tan interior 4x4 with Locking diff
I am the second owner as of June 2019. I used this truck for around town vehicle. Purchased for PO with 196K so I have only put around 2000 miles on it in a year. Plans were to use it as a cheap alternative for car payments but plans and situation has changed. Moving soon and don't have room from 4 cars. Recently put a lot of effort into maintenance parts to get it back into shape. Not a show truck. Has dents and paint issues on the hood from the PO. Was garage kept for most of the time until recently. AC blows cold. 4x4 works. Locking diff. Sunroof and rear window still work
Parts recently changed in the last 3 months.
Spark plugs NGK
3 new Denso coils
Toyota IAC
Toyota TPS
Reman Motorworks fuel injectors total 6
Installed fuel pressure rail service port
Valve cover gaskets
Intake gaskets
Toyota Fuel pressure valve
Fuel filter
Cleaned MAF
Cleaned Throttle body
Replaced auto shifter bushings
New Battery
New alternator
I don't sell junk so here is what was next on my list
PO said timing belt was changed at 100K so that is due for a replacement
Could use a new set of tires
Time for an oil change
PO had rewired the passenger rear window motor and the switch now works reversed. Up is down and vice versa.
Oil dipstick tube o ring leaking a bit
I had sourced a lot of Toyota Factory parts for replacement and have originals to most along with a computer out of a 97 auto as well. I will have all of the extra old parts in a box
For a 23 yr old truck runs good. Not a show truck I will say again. Has a dent in hood. Interior is good but not perfect. I have a lot of the maintenance records form the PO but I did all of the work myself since purchase. I have receipts for most if not all. I think I even have the original owners manual.
