Well when I was running them I had no rear bumper and the ride wasn't bad at all. I'm also running rough country shocks. They arent the best shock but they ride good for me and hold up offroad. IMO as long as you don't run the OME rear shocks the ride won't be harsh. Shocks do play a major roll in the ride quality of your rig.
 
so them with a bilstein would ride pretty good ya think? i just dont plan on having a aftermarket bumper put on but we are lookin into gettin a small trailor to pull my 4wheeler on
 
IMO I couldn't tell the difference when I switched from bilstein 5150s to the RCs. The bilsteins rode nice from what I remember. 5100s or 5150s are perfect for 891s as long as you have the right length.
