FS: Washington DC 1999 4Runner Limited 4x4 100k miles w/ rebuilt SC & e-locker

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker here, testing the waters on my beloved '99 4Runner. I need a bigger vehicle, otherwise would not want to part ways.

I bought the truck four years ago with about 75k miles on it, it now has 103,000. Since I bought it I have had the timing belt replaced, water pump replaced, and had the supercharger rebuilt by PSE Superchargers. There is some rust underneath, though I've been reassured over and over at the shop that the frame looks good. The interior is in great shape. I've done no offroading since I bought it, have only used the 4x4 for snow a couple times a year.

Highlights:

- 103,000 miles
- e-locker
- rebuilt supercharger (have paperwork)
- timing belt & water pump replaced at ~80k (have paperwork)
- new BFG AT KO2s 265/75/16
- sunroof works great
- installed HIDs myself, but also have brand new housings to revert back to standard headlights

I'd really appreciate the community's thoughts on what my rig is worth, and if anyone is interested in buying I'd be glad to hear your offer. I feel like it might be worth around $8,000 - $9,000 to the right buyer but perhaps that's a bit optimistic.

I'll try and add some photos of the interior ASAP, it just got dark on me tonight. Will also replace once I get a chance to wash her, she's a bit dirty from some gravel roads over the weekend.

You are hoping for top dollar and are using a flickr link and you only have six pictures? Com'on man, get to shutter-bugging.

Take lots of pix for people here as well as potential buyers....engine bay, under carriage (since you mention rust), interior, etc.

The more info we have, the better informed we will be to offer a price opinion.

P.S. If the rust is not bad and no other surprises or issues like accidents, me thinks you can get 8-10k all day long.

For a sales post that lists customizations (supercharger) and concerns (minor rust), you should break out the camera and get ~50 pics or so into that Flickr album. Pretend you are a really picky buyer interested in your 4Runner and think about all the things you'd want to see up close. Take 2 pictures (different angles) of each of those things.

Thanks to both of you for your input, yeah I figured the number of pics wasn't quite enough given the age of the truck and what people want to see before they buy.

I was not planning at all on going the trade route with it, but just this morning found the LX470 I've been looking for (a 2000 1 owner dealer trade with 107k miles, the thing looks brand new inside and out) and the dealer is offering me $5k for mine plus swapping my tires onto the LX. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me given the hassle of third party selling.

So all that said, unless someone is in the area and really wants the truck for a better deal than that ASAP, I'm just going to go with the trade Monday. Sorry to have wasted everybody's time. :doh:

I'm sorry but unless you absolutely need the money from the 4Runner in order to get the Lex, you are leaving an easy $3-5k on the table by trading in. They will turn around and sell it for at least as much as you were originally asking if not more, if your descriptions are accurate.

Yeah, I agree. Wish I had $8k to give him but times are tough. Not to mention he’s gonna need that extra $3k to run that thirsty LX.
