Fuel additives or engine fluids in 4Runners?

I'm brand new to this board and thus looking for guidance.

Surely there have been threads that address my question, but I wanted updated, recent advice. I finally purchased my dream 4Runner a week ago and this bad boy is my baby--a 2008 Sport Edition v8 4x4 loaded to the hilt.

My question is this:

Any 4Runner owners swear by any of the engine/fuel additives? Do you use supreme unleaded, or just the regular?

If so, what product do you use and how often do you use it?

My goal is simple. I want the very best in fuel performance, but mostly aim to care for my engine so that it runs cleanly, efficiently, and want to promote its long-term health.

It's great to be in the 4Runner family.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fuel & Oil Additives

I always - with every vehicle I own - add one bottle of the STP 'super concentrated' fuel injector cleaner to the fuel tank after each oil change. Sort of a 'cheap insurance' measure in my mind; and I have had cars with well over 100k that never needed professional services on the induction system.

Regarding the engine, I use Mobil-1 synthetic oil and a good oil filter. Never had any trouble by doing that!

Take care of your car and it will take care of you!!

My manual says, unleaded Octane Rating 87..and "for improved vehicle performance, the use of Premium Unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 is highly recommended" And research Octane 96...

$3 - $5/gal - I use regular.. LoL!
$2/gal - I'm using premium or higher octane rating..

As for the Fuel additives like fuel system cleaners..I'll usually pour Techron Concentrate in the tank when I notice symptoms of dirty injectors or loss of power..etc...or every 5K. Some are using Seafoam:)

Regular Unleaded Gasoline should meet most requirements, but we can not trust those mixtures nowadays. Refill only with branded gas from reputable gas companies.

Just change your oil as stated in manual, keep maintenance items up to date and do not use any comercial junk (Toyota does not recomend any).

so some owners like the additives with each oil change and others simply go "by the book" correct to assume it depends on personal choice?

True, it is personal preference and it makes some people feel better by doing things to a car. What ever it takes to make us happy. I'm perfectly content with dozens of ingredients already contained in my oil (Mobil 1), therefore I trust the scientists who came up with additives for it. Same applies for petrol (gas for those in US).

I use a can of BG's 44K in the tank once a year and it did wonders on my very modded Eclipse for over 8 years and the fuel system was fine for over 9 years and the injectors after 100k miles still flowed at 100% as recorded by my datalogger.
