I'd go by the directions. Too much and it can do harm.

When I feel like putting some Techron in, I run to near empty which I never do. I put the stuff in and then fill up.

I wouldn't over think this. Just throw a bottle in and be done with it.

rumored one of the cheapest , (and safe), ways to get rid of carbon buildup is to add 1/4 quart tranny fluid to a full tank of gas. no it won't smoke thick white clouds, unless you pour it directly into the TB.

I know that te BG products do work. Service departments use them. It makes a difference in a higher mileage vehicle (30K +) . But I think it's difficult to get BG if you are not a distributor or a car repair shop with an account. They don't do retail.

I was getting through the local Mistsubishi dealer ($18 a can)when I was racing my Eclipse through the '90s but now you can get it at most parts stores including Pep Boys and Carquest and the cost is just over $20 and well worth it. You usually have to ask for it at the parts counter but they've been doing retail for over 5 years now.

hell i don't remember. I'm not sure if it even works, just a rumor. But me and a friend in high school used to drive around in his old maverick that had a tube going through the dash and firewall and stuck the end of the tube in the carb. We'd get in front of people and pour tranny fluid down the tube and the car would blow a huge cloud of dense white smoke out the tailpipe. It was hilarious, but didn't harm the engine.

Actually you want to use this stuff called Seafoam and here's a huge thread on the stuff and there's a how-to-do somewhere on the board.

I just checked it out and they are mostly (if not all) applying it to 2nd and 3rd gens. Would it be applicable in our 4th gens. Keep in mind that my rig only has like 17k on it, so I am sure that there wouldn't be that much buildup in the engine that much. As far as putting it in the gas tank, how much to use. etc etc

Yeah,with 4th gens it's probably a bit early so probbaly don't need to worry about it now.
