So I had the pleasure of having my fuel door finally breaking off 3 days ago. It was on its last hinge for a while. I saw a guy you YouTube use some magnets to attach it back, so I thought I would give it a try.
Materials:
Magnets from Home Depot
Zip tie
Super Glue
Magnet Source, Neodymium Disc Magnets
12mm x 3mm
Superglued 4 stacks of 3 magnets
Superglued the 4 stacks at the following points. I think the one circled could have been moved lower to where the arrow is pointing.
Zip tied the fuel door to the broken hinge, in case it decides to fly off. But I don’t think it will. It is pretty secure.
My door now sits almost flush to the body and I don’t see it coming off in the future. And I also gave it a nice clean in there. It was filthy. Finished pics:
I hope this can help someone out. Mods please feel free to move wherever it should be. Thank you.
