Fuel Gauge Issue, is it the sending unit?

Any follow up on this issue? OP; Did you replace the sending unit?

I'm experiencing what appears to be the exact same symptoms and was hoping to pinpoint the issue before buying parts.

To be clear: My fuel gauge will move from 3/8 tank to E, triggering the fuel light, and back with no apparent pattern anytime my tank gets below 1/2 full (based on the gauge).

As a result, I'm just not letting it stay below 1/2 a tank for now, but ultimately I want to fix it in preparation for some summer wheeling and road trips.

On a similar note, when starting up my fuel gauge reads empty w/ the light on, even when I just filled up, then after driving 10 minutes or so it'll jump up... sometimes to where it should be, sometimes to a random point. Any ideas?

Bump, this is driving me crazy. Should prob just bite the bullet and taker to the mechanic
