Hey guys picked up a 99 about 3 weeks ago since i kissed a pole with the 86 so i needed something to drive wile i fixed it

well any way i got it he said the fuel gauge dose not work quite right it varies during trips it basically goes between full and half tank over the process of a tank and i was ok with this for now just watched my mileage
well the other day i was having fun in snow and was braking hard and the abs was shaking the shit out of the truck and then the gauge drops to complete empty and the fuel low light is blinking and im not ok with this i hate blinking lights
there is 8 inches of snow on ground and haven't looked under truck yet
also note this is not constant some times its broke in the way it was went i got it and some times it show empty in blinking

basically anyone had this issue where should i start trying to avoid dropping tank.

Its not a recall, just a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB). TSB's are basically released when a manufactures realizes they have a very common known issue. They usually only issue a recall if your vehicle is going to burst into flames or you're going to crash and die. So no, it's not going to be a freebee.

I just removed the low fuel bulb since the blinking light got annoying after awhile. I'll usually fill up every 200 miles.
