My fuel injector nightmare:
The plan for this morning was to R & R the driver's side fuel injectors but I decided to remove the whole rail from all 6 injectors. The left side came off clean but the right side not so much. #3's base broke in the hole and I needed to pull out the base with needle nose pliers. #5 however came out without the o-ring. How does that happen? I attached a 1/4" clear hose to my shop vac and fished around in both intake runners for quite a while but nothing came out. The valves look closed but I won't know for sure until I remove the valve cover. Is this a huge issue? How in the world didn't it have an O-ring? Could it have come off years ago or is it more likely that someone did #5 and forgot to install it? I guess my choice is to pull the intake or hope it blows out or already did blow out.
Any suggestions would be appreciated while I zip over to the parts store for 3 more injectors.
