fuel mileage

I have 7000 miles on truck...I buy gas at different stations...I drive on different roads all the time...my city mileage is 19-20 & highway is 24-25 every tank since I bought truck.

I stand by my mileage statement, but I do have to agree it's driving the speed limit on the freeway or a bit less and I've learned to stay away from the gas pedal. When I've had to hurry on one or more trips the mileage takes a dive. I do thing that synthetic lubricants, hight tire pressure, driving habits, freeway only driving, a 2x4 with Cross T's can get anyone the same.

I'll never see 24-25 MPG --- must be premium gas, no load at all and lots of down hill with a tail wind. I be estatic with say 21 or 22 (on regular).

I have a V8 4x4 and I can get 24-25 MPG on the highway. Of course only if I maintain consistent speed at 45-50mph. This can be done on state highway and back roads. On the interstate it become dangerous to drive that slow.

Soon as I increase the speed to 70mph which is normal interstate driving. MPG drops to 18-19 just as stated by toyota.

At 80mph - MPG drops to 16-17.
