ive noticed it too. it was around 2.60/g by my house and today it was at 2.81
i orig thought they were jacking them up because of the holidays but they seem to keep going up?!?

Yeah I just filled up for $3.31/gal this morning. I wish we had gas for $2.81. Damn 3.0 is draining my wallet.

Fuel Prices
It is not your imagination. Fuel prices have been going up a lot lately - primarily because of the Fed printing more "funny money" and fiat currency.......which causes inflation.
The OPECkers are finding their dollars don't go as far anymore and they cannot buy as many Mercedes-Benz sedans and vacation palaces; thus they want more dollars. Buckle up, folks; as it is only the beginning.
In the coming few months, prices may stabilize or decrease a bit; but then unleaded will skyrocket to between $3.75 and $4.00 a gallon by Memorial Day (just in time for that summer driving season and the mandate for reformulated gasoline in most markets).
Unleaded is $2.97 to $3.05 in our market (Richmond, VA), and diesel fuel is now about $3.19 to $3.29 - depending upon where you go for it. Some of our big rigs at work now take almost $600 to fill up both tanks. Ouch!!!!

The "inflation" effect is soon going to be seen in grocery stores and then just about everywhere else, as so much of everything we buy or use is transported by truck, train or ship - which all use diesel fuel for propulsion. Fuel oil and natural gas prices are likely to rise as well, which will also drive up the cost of refrigeration and generation of electricity.
It is not looking good, and so many of our politicians are too stupid to let us harness our own abundant domestic reserves.

Gas is too expensive out there.

It's not the gas thats annoying (it is but not as much), it's the freaking cost of diesel, it costs less to refine it, yet the government wants to tax it more than gasoline, and they put a bigger price tag on something that is more efficent to use than gasoline. They are all really a bunch of A55holes. Meanwhile Diesel is cheaper in Europe. WTF

Exactly! They've got diesels over there getting like 50mpg easy (some are over 100mpg). We wont get it here because then they cant make money off us

European fuel economy rating is NOT like EPA rating over here...they usually overestimate compare to EPA. Just ask VW...their european cycle showed amazing MPGs, but when EPA tested the VW diesel over here, it was a big disappointment! So, I would not based what you hear across the pond as direct comparisons to cars over here.

There goes my plans at getting a SUV/TRUCK in the future...hmmm, maybe by then, I can get good bargains on these "gas guzzlers."

See, that's the wreckless type of journalism that helped send prices soaring a few years ago. Prices would go up and CNN would interview some jagg off who would speculate gas going even higher so the market would panic and gas would go up. And then Fox News would interview someone else who would speculate even higher prices...and so on and so on. And it's all thanks to "speculation" and not one damn legitimate reason is ever truly given. I remember hearing "expert" analysts on one station say prices are up because the dollar is up. Then a few months later on a different network prices are up because the dollar is down... We're all a bunch of saps.

Hopefully not but remeber when gas was a tad over $4/gal and they were saying it was going over $5 back then and would never see below $3/gal ever again and around here I'm still paying $2.70/gal.
