Fuel pump advice wanted

At almost 282,000 miles, I am worried my original fuel pump will not last much longer. It seems to work perfectly, however, and I am reluctant to fix it when it is not broken, but doing so will be far cheaper and less hassle than a breakdown on the road somewhere.

1. How long do the original fuel pumps last?

2. If I do replace it, I have narrowed it down to either a Bosch or Denso, both OEM and roughly the same price ($69 or $77, respectively).

Definitely Denso for replacement. I dont think they used bosch. Even if they did I would go japanese over german. How long do they last? I don't know. But if it ain't broke.......

I say leave it alone. It's lasted this long. Being in the fuel keeps them cool so just don't run the tank down near empty which will drop the fuel level enough to have the pump out in the open and let it heat up.

Partsgeek.com usually has pretty good info on what is OEM and what is not. They show Denso and Kyosan as OEM. The Bosch is also listed, but not as OEM.

Failing fuel pumps frequently take their time dying, causing long cranks and misfires. If no symptoms, I'd spend my maintenance $$ elsewhere.
