Fuel pump running after park?

I parked the 2015 Limited in the garage and came back 5 hours later to hear a motor like sound coming from under the rear. Without starting the motor, I turned the ignition to ON and got another, but louder, motor like noise under the hood, like I think I usually do, but this time it ran much longer. Shut it back of and no more noise. Ideas?

It's not the fuel pump stuck on. It's the evaporator system pressurizing itself looking for leaks. All cars do it

My 2015 NX and my wife's 2015 IS both do it. However, I wouldn't generalize that "all cars do it", my 2012 Camaro does not.
 
I have to laugh at this.... After owning three 4runners, you would think I'd remember this. But sure enough, this past Sunday, I ran errands around 11am, and walked into the garage at 4pm to hear this sound coming from the rear of the 4Runner. Did a mild freak out... Immediately googled/forum and found my answer in like 30 seconds. Then laughed at myself for not remembering...
 
The motor under the hood when you turn the key on is the brake booster. It might run for up to about 8-10 seconds, and if it needs to run longer it might do a second cycle a bit later. How long it runs for depends on how depleted the brake boost was when you parked, and how long it's been parked, and how fast it loses pressure over that time. If you pump the brakes while it's off, it will run longer when you turn it on. If you haven't been parked for long, it might not run at all.
 
This happened to me today. 2015 TE 5k miles.

Drove it, 4 hours later go to garage and hear what to me sounded most definitely like a fuel pump running. Sound definitely coming from rear tank area.

Sounds a little odd that it was doing this 4 hours after I shut it off.
