Fuel Range is Broken

I filled up today when I had half a tank and left the battery on so I could keep listening to a program. Anyway after I started the engine the digital fuel range did not update, nor has it since a couple starts/stops. Any ideas?

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and plug it back it. If that doesn't help, try taking it back to your dealer. You should still be under warranty.

try resetting it, I believe there is a reset function for either the mileage left or the average mpg, which, I would think would reset the mileage left....

My 2011 TE did that once when I filled up around half a tank, I just drove it down to zero and used an age old method that my ancestors used in the olden days, I kept an eye on the actual fuel gauge :hiding:, sorry couldn't help that one, but when I filled up the next time it read distance to empty fine.:reddance:

I have noticed something 'odd' with that part of the 4R from day one. Say you drive until is say '47 miles', shut it off, fill it up, then start it up. It fuel gauges reads FULL yet the range will still show '47 miles', but as soon as you shift it into Drive the range recalculates and jumps to 350+. It will not change until you shift even though the gauge says full, to me that is odd. Mine has always 'reset', but then again I have always shut it off between fills.

I do not even use the miles to empty function anymore. It is always wrong. If I reset it, it is correct up until I pull the trailer or go wheeling again, then right back to "317 miles to empty" with a full tank, when I can go almost 400. ScanGauge II miles to empy > Toyotas LOL
