Full Undercarriage Protection for 4Runner

I recently finished building full undercarriage protection for my '05 4Runner. I did replaced all stock skids and add some new.
So far I have skids for the engine, transmission, transfer case, fuel tank and muffler. I've tested them and they do hold impacts very well. I tried to jump on rocks and no damage so far. All of them are made from 3/16 steel with reinforcements. The only down point is that all 5 weights ~200lbs, but I think it worth every lbs...

Black spots on front skids are the fresh paint. I did paint them with undercarriage paint, but after sliding on rocks I got some fresh scratches. So for rust protection I painted the scratches.

you do some really nice work. i can't wait for my bonus check so i can buy some of your body armor. just curious, is your fuel tank skid a direct bolt on? do you feel you have decreased your ground clearance at all?

I made all skids bolt-on. Some of them direct bolt-on, some require some bracket welding. Bolt-on skids are better because you can exchange them in case you'll trash them.
Fuel tank skid is direct bolt-on. I removed my stock one and duplicate it with 3/16 steel. Original fuel tank skid is some sort of "Z-shape" on the bottom; front part is 1/4" higher then rear part. My skid is flat and if you draw a formal line between the crossmember in front of your transfer case and rear axle, my skid will be much higher - so I didn

I don't have access to the shop now. I'll have to see if I have a pair in the shop already made. I don't have much time now, very busy at my work, so I won't be making new ones for a some time.

With all the skids, it's like a tank armor and all at one level.
