Fumoto vlave- Yay or Nay?

I think its a great time saving idea, but I would be a little worried about it coming open. What do you guys think? Any body got one?

I installed one on my first oil change when my T4R was new in '05. I like it alot, but it does take the oil longer to drain out of the pan. No tools needed to drain oil.

I've got one on my wife's Legacy, the oil used to shoot out of that thing like it was pressurized! It does make for nice clean oil changes (make sure you get the one with the nipple so you can slip a hose over it and drop the oil straight into an old oil container). It won't come open by accident, once you have it in your hand you'll see that it's designed in a way that this is not an issue.

The lever is spring loaded so that you need to push it up and out of the groove, and then turn it to open the valve.

HA HA HA!!! I totally know what you mean we had a Legacy Outback wagon with the 2.5 Turbo, I have never experienced oil shooting out of the drain plug like that before.

I had one in my previous V6 4Runner (2006) and my current V8 4Runner (2008) and the valves work great. Neither valve opened on its own. Highly recommended.

I have one...works well.


I usually just slip the catch pan under the car and crack the valve open...then go out and run some errans and change the filter when i come back home. Pour 5.5qt of oil and i'm done. So easy.

Had one on my 05 Taco. Worked great and made for much cleaner changes. Now that I think about it I hate I forgot to take it off before trading it in...lol
