Funny Toyota/Nissan comparison

first of all. my apologies. this doesnt belong in 3rd gen 4runners. i cant see if or where i can change it though..

little background: my first two cars were both 96 camrys. one base 4cyl and on fully loaded v6. both with over 350k. now i am a toyota guy. always have been but i fell in love with my 1986 Nissan 300zx. 240k, stock and with no problems for the 3 years i owned and daily drove it. needed a more practical car so i thot hey nissans pretty good. bought a 2003 maxima...here is where it begins.

now heres the fun part
motor: runs perfect/shot
transmission: little low on fluid/on its way out
other necessary engine partserfect/alternator on way out
brakes:near perfect/shot, warped, broke, literally falling off
suspension: factory, little rear sag/shot (springs and shocks)
electrical:clock doesnt work/rear window, right heated seat dont work

i kid you not, i never abused that maxima nor neglected it. that all happened within a year. motor obviously had problems before that but the rest is all new.

conclusion, unless i get my z back (new owner wrecked it running from cops) ill stick with toyota

I had a 2006 Xterra, pretty good SUV with lots of power. I think it had about 90k miles when I took it in for a squeal or something and it needed a couple thousand dollars worth of work and one of the engine mounts was bad. Luckily it was under warranty. A couple months later I bought my 4Runner with almost twice as many miles and haven't looked back.

My 03 v8 4th Gen vs my ex 05 volvo v70r. Bought volvo @ 156k invested 4k in repairs, sold it at 173k after 2 years

03v8 4runner bought @ 164k invested 4500 in maintaining it then managed to put 16000 miles on it in 1 year of ownership. It runs like new.

When I sold the volvo, it needed front shocks again and started to have trans issues, and sprung a slight rear main seal leak. My runner leaks nothing but is rusty like crazy lol. I too never looked back, only look forward to what mod am I doing next lol.
