Fuse Block - That Doesn't Look Right

Trying to take care of some of the previous issues that the previous owners left behind and noticed this while changing out the fuse for the rear heater.

For reference: ALT 120A, location

Now look at where the ALT 120A is supposed to be

When I saw this that just doesn't seem right. Any ides on how to fix that if that is screwed up?

Looks like you had a short and some meltage happened. Check your wires. Maybe a mouse chewed through your harness somewheres? My friend had this happen on his brand new car. Not covered under warranty either.

Looks like lithium grease to me.

Looks fine. Leave it it alone. It is keeping it from corroding up.

Did you buy private or certified used? Did you notice this before buying? Hopefully the burnt out main fuse isn't an indication of some larger issue. Probably happened when someone tried to jump start the truck with the jumper cables reversed.
Not a "simple" fuse change because it involves wrenches and that is probably why the po didn't do it. A main fuse is there for system protection. Might cost small $ but the risk of not doing it is fried wires and ECU's, read big $$$. Definitely something that needs to be done and done right.

Looks like the plastic cover came off it, and the previous owner put some white grease on it to keep it from corroding and to keep the water out.
