Great news as I am in the market for a skid plate. Went 4wheelin with stock suspension and smashed up my front skid pretty good.

I might as well ask in this thread, but from what I gather my options for skid plates are Bud Built or SS. Is there much difference between these? Or is a skid plate a skid plate. Anyone offer some advice to help me decide?

With my stock suspension (soon to be upgraded hopefully) do I want the full skid plate or maybe just the engine skid? I'm thinking of minimizing overall weight.

I just got off the phone with Jim over at SW and the rear bumper is ready and will qualify for the GB pricing. They are going to honor the GB pricing discount for the rear bumper for a few extra days since they did not get the pricing completed in time. Here are some pics he had sent me that have not yet been posted. You will need to cut up your stock bumper but the cuts do not need to be exact as they will be hidden behind the SW bumper.

Pricing is as follows:
Rear bumper only: ~$900
Rear bumper with tire carrier: ~$1,600

Contact them direct to place your order.

I'm really thinking about just getting the rear bumper but not entirely sold on the look of it.

Justin said their wasn't enough time for them to get the dimensions for the Gobi. I'm thinking of taking a trip down to Texas to see if they can build me a custom rear carrier to fit my needs. That way they can get all the issues with the ladder and everything figured out.

These prices are before the GB discount. I will call in tomorrow and see how much these rear bumper's weigh. I will also ask about the GOBI ladder and camera issue.

Here are some more pics Jim sent over to me with more angles. I'm really not sold on the look of it after seeing the shot from the side. I kind of wish it went all the way to the edge of the fender/bumper.

Yeah I agree, the fitment of the rear bumpers at the sides doesn't flow too well. I am not a fan of all the plastic on the 5th gens to start with and am looking at some after market bumpers. The one pic shows the trimed rear plastic panel held onto the bumper with a zip tie...
