I started a post a couple weeks back when I sold my condo and started canping out of my car.
Of course my phone is old and I lost it all and didn't start over but since then I bought a 13 foot camper and will continue to live like this until I get a little piece of land somewhere.

I have a 2005 v6 sr5 that is mostly stock.
The rear pumpkin has just been replaced, as well as radiator, suspension parts, brakes and a transmission fluid flush. At 207k miles, it made the shift hunting on slight hills with the cruise control on completely stop.

The trailer has electric brakes but it is light enough that it isn't noticeable without the controller.

Camping out of the suv was fine and probably simpler if I were to attempt to hit some of the same free national forest areas I hit a few weeks ago. I either popped my little tent outside or stayed in the back on a cot if I suspected bears based off bear bins everywhere.

I'll update this with some of my adventures.

With a 2000 lb camper I can't see adding the electric brakes. Even on 9% grades in West Virginia this week I only had to downshift a few times to slow the truck down.

I'm learning quick about camping and how much power to use at night. Keep the switches off during the day so I can get a few extra clicks with the lights on the second day. I'll get a real solar panel hookup to charge the battery eventually, but I get a charge to the camper as I drive via the trailer hookup.

Every few camp spots I'm at a state park anyhow as I really don't mind paying a few bucks for a hot shower vs. a quick sponge bath in the woods.

About 1,000 miles a week average the past ew weeks. Eventually, I'll settle down at a RV resort near some golf courses and chill out in the south for the winter. Georgia and Florida I think will suffice this year.
