Gas Pedal Sticking

Hello everyone

My gas pedal is sticking on start up. For example, i start my T4R, put it in reverse, get out of the driveway, step on the gas, gas pedal is stuck. I have to push down pretty hard and then it kicks in. After driving, parking, and re-starting, it doesn't happen, so the only time i guess is on cold start.

Anyone have any thoughts about this problem?

Yep, I had the same problem with my wifes old Blazer. You need to pull the throttle body and thoroughly clean under the butterfly valve. It likely has a bunch of carbon buildup and the valve is sticking when the engine is cold...

My dad has the same problem with his 95 T100. It's kinda annoying, but I don't think that it is a serious problem, as long as it doesn't stick open.

Well, share my solution with him....then he wont be annoyed.

No need to pull the TB. Just get a can of B-12 Chemtool and spray it out really well. As an added precaution, a small shot of WD40 or PB Blaster on the end of the cable probably wouldn't hurt.

That may work fine for the top of the butterfly valve, but the issue lies below. The best way to clean the TB and solve this problem is to pull it and clean it thoroughly.
