I would greatly appreciate them.

I plan on using ALL the OEM I can. The sending unit, evap lines, the whole 9. That way, all I really have to do is just extend the electrical lines, and not try to figure out what goes where and all that jazz.

I have a scrap tank at the house, and I plan on cutting the fittings off of it and using them on my tank. so all I have to do it bolt all the stuff back on.

If you could get the measurements of the fuel pump, just how long it is, and how far it sticks above the tank, and how far the evap lines stick above the tank I would greatly appreciate it.

From the bottom of the fuel pump to the top of the sending unit fuel lines is 13.5"

The float drops a quarter inch lower than the bottom of the fuel pump for a total of 13.75" measured from the float to top of the fuel lines on the sending unit.

From bottom of the tank to highest point (evap lines) is a little over 14"

I don't know I you are set on making your own if not check this guy out.

I have had him do boat fuel tanks to tank for drag cars. You can make it out of. Add board and send It to him of just tell him what you want. He can set it up with the right flanges and fittings to run your OEM stuff.

I'd probably cut that baffle out of the old tank and use it. But I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to fab up

Good thought. It holds gas at the pump when at some crazy angles. Without, I know that we would have starved the engine of fuel.

I did, and I did. Hahaha. Thanks A LOT. That really helps with getting these measurements down pat.

I definately planned on adding some baffles to the tank. But, taking that one out of ours isn't a bad idea at all.

Serious question:

Our 4Runners only have one fuel pump, and that's the one that is in the tank, correct? There isn't another one after the filter, right?

I'm asking this because I'm debating on a sump, or a surge tank. Let me know what you guys think would work best in this situation.

There is only one pump.
The "baffle" is actually more like a self filling reservoir. It's solid walls that hold the gas near the pump and has small openings at the bottom to allow gas into it. These small openings keep the gas from rushing away from the pump when the vehicle is on severe angles, nose up or down.

The reason I'm building one is so I DON'T loose my storage space though. Lol.
