gas tank question.

If I continue to flatten the seam where the top and bottom of the gas tank is put together to get more clearence at the lower link mount do you think it will make it leak?

At some point you will weaken the seam enough it will start to leak. How much? only trail and error will tell. Just be careful.

FWIW, the aux tank on my 83 started leaking at the seam.
The tank repair putty they sell actually fixed it.
Doesn't mean it will fix every leak though.
