Gauge Cluster Swap

Hey guys my 99 4runner came from up north so the speedometer is in kilometers and I was wondering if I could get an American version of the gauge cluster and plug it in and the odometer will read miles or will I have to go to the dealer and get the computer set to miles instead of kilometers? Thanks guys

It would be much easier to just take a sharpie and next to each number write "x .62"

On a serious note: You can get gauge clusters cheap on ebay, at least the background so it shows miles. Im betting the needle is the same on all 3rd gens, just the background for either miles or kilometers. As far as changing the odometer to miles that is definetly a question for the dealership

It shows the mph in the small lets just like how the kilometers are small on the american cluster but its a pain to keep looking at the little number plus every time I take it into some where they ask how many miles it has so I have to convert it and it just a pita! Ill check ebay thanks
