Nope - it's strictly for use at night while sleeping in the back. In fact, when traveling the shelf sits on the cargo floor along with our mountain of other stuff.

Yes, it's easy to disassemble. If I needed to remove it to haul something large I would just punch the pins out of the hinges and all I would be left with is the bottom plate bolted to the cargo tray.

Did you just screw this directly into the sliding rear tray? Interested in how it was mounted. Thanks!
